Loburg Castle on the occasion of the Palaces and Castles Day

The first documentary mention of the House of Loburg dates back to 1294. This was followed in 1412 by the conversion of the farm into a manor. It was not until around 1760 that master builder Johann Conrad Schlaun gave the manor house its baroque features and thus its present appearance. Today, the pretty little castle in Ostbevern is home to one of the largest boarding schools in Germany. The castle park with its historic pathways and valuable, extremely rare rhododendron stands, some of which are more than a hundred years old, presents itself to visitors with the typical atmosphere of an English garden.
