Situated on the "sun terrace of the Tecklenburger Land", Lengerich not only offers scenic attractions, but also some significant sights. An absolute highlight is, of course, Haus Vortlage. In the art café on the estate you can linger wonderfully in the enchanting setting of the manor house.
How about a ride on the historic steam train on the Teutoburg Forest Railway? This is a special way to experience nature. A visit to the late Gothic town church in the old town of Lengerich offers a close-up view of history. Let yourself be tempted by a stroll through the popular pedestrian zone with the Römer, built in 1250. The Gempt-Halle venue on the edge of the town centre is also modern and imposing. It is definitely worth taking a look at Lengerich's events calendar.
Lengerich is the ideal starting point for a cycling tour or hike through the densely wooded Tecklenburger Land. From here you can travel to Lienen, Tecklenburg and Bad Iburg, for example. The towns and villages are characterised by their picturesque historic centres. On the Sagenroute, the towns can be reached from Lengerich via signposted cycle paths.
But not only cyclists will find first-class paths in and around Lengerich. For hikers, the over 9 km long premium hiking trail"Canyonblick" is recommended, which leads into the mountain ranges of the Tecklenburger Land.
