It'sthat simple:
The Schlossgemeinde Nordkirchen celebrates its birthday and the popular "Everyday People" by the artists Christel and Laura Lechner are part of it.
They have already been to Sylt, the Netherlands or Switzerland. Now, from 9 April to 16 October 2022, the lovable concrete sculptures will be staying in the Nordkirchen castle community for the first time.
Around 50 sculptures at 15 locations invite visitors to take a tour through the three districts of Nordkirchen, Südkirchen, Capelle and the castle and park grounds of the "Westphalian Versailles". The art installations in public spaces are sensitively integrated into the townscape at striking locations and offer something to talk about. They make visitors laugh, make them think and often put a smile on their faces.
Whether young or old - the "everyday people" provide interaction, surprise and joy for all generations. A special "highlight" in Nordkirchen is the birthday table in the castle park, which creates a remarkable symbiosis between the visitors, the everyday people and the occasion of the anniversary year as part of the exhibition.
With the Birthday Table, Christel and Laura Lechner invite all viewers to become part of the anniversary exhibition themselves. Join them and take a short break at the laid table. Through this interaction, new pictures are created again and again, which thus become part of the art exhibition.
"Different Echoes" is a renowned artist project by Nikola Dimitrov, Friedhelm Falke, Ekkehard Neumann, Sigrún Ólafsdóttir, Götz Sambale, Elly Valk-Verheijen and Annette Wesseling, who have been exhibiting together in different houses since 2016. The project title here refers to an ambiguity - the works of the individual artists form both their own echo and a resonating body for each other. Reduced in colour and form, each work works on its own and at the same time, as an ensemble, enters into an exciting exchange with other works and the space. The constellation of the works differs according to the space at each exhibition venue. Thus "Different Echoes" in the Kolvenburg unfolds a very special effect in the interplay of painting, sculpture, new media in installative image form and the historic walls of the castle.

Gan-Erdene Tsend is one of the region's most important artists, known far beyond its borders. Burg Vischering is now dedicating a major solo exhibition to him in its 750th anniversary year.
Gan-Erdene Tsend spent his childhood in the sandy and stony landscapes near the Gobi Desert before moving to Münster to study art. His paintings transport us into a magical pictorial universe, shaped by Mongolian tradition and the reality of German life. They form a kaleidoscope of impressions from distant, deserted landscapes and contrasting urban backdrops. In these scenes, which are characterised by lightness, the people and animals, mostly depicted in rear view, seem detached from time and space. In keeping with the exhibition's title, Tsend knows better than anyone how to question the depiction of reality with self-evident lightness.
Time and again, his works feature the artifice of mirroring, with which he knows how to merge the visible, real world with that of imagination, fantasy and memory to form a fascinating unity.
In addition to new, large-format works, the unique exhibition also presents numerous private loans, which the artist himself sees as milestones in his artistic career.
The District of Coesfeld cordially invites you to the opening of the exhibition on Sunday, 12 June at 5 pm.
In this cool course lasting over 5 days, you will sew a yedi robe according to your own imagination. A cosplayer will help you find the right tricks. But that's not all, of course: you'll shape the necessary accessories out of various materials, including the thermoplastic material "Worbla". How about a laser sword, for example? Of course, it should also light up, and to make that happen, an electrical engineer will help you assemble and install the necessary technical components. And when everything is ready? Then, of course, it's time for the presentation. There are also lots of tips from the experts. And what do you get out of it? A lot of fun, great costumes and a lot of insights into different professional worlds, from electrical engineering to game design. And best of all - it costs you nothing!
