ECHO TRIO ON NOVEMBER 1ST AT SANDFORT CASTLE IN OLFEN
New stars for the Münsterland region
They come from Greece and South Korea and are among the "new stars" of the Münster University of Music: Daehyeon Kang (violin), Aristeidis Lykos Desyllas (cello) and Chaehyun Min (piano) have been performing as the Echo Trio since April 2023. At the Münsterland Festival, the young ensemble will be performing at Sandfort Castle - including works by Finnish composer Jean Sibelius.
The students have already received numerous awards: Daehyeon Kang took first place at the Vienna Youth Music Competition, Aristeidis Lykos Desyllas won at the "Jugend musiziert" competition and Chaehyun Min was awarded a prize at the International Piano Competition (ICA). In addition, all three perform in chamber music and solo concerts in Europe and Asia. As members of the "Neue Sterne für das Münsterland", they stand for excellent up-and-coming music.
In cooperation with the Kunst- und Kulturverein Olfen, Schloss Sandfort and the Neue Sterne of the Musikhochschule Münster.

THE VENUE: SANDFORT CASTLE IN OLFEN
Sandfort Castle in Olfen is a moated castle and was first mentioned in the 13th century. The complex was originally walled and, in addition to the manor house from the 17th or early 18th century, includes a house with two round towers and two neoclassical farm buildings. The manor house, which has been altered several times, is characterized by its square tower with a baroque dome. The estate is owned by the Count of Hagen-Plettenberg.
