EXCURSION: FINNISH HIKING DAY ON 28 AND 29 OCTOBER AT LAKE OFFLUMER IN NEUENKIRCHEN

At Lake Offlum in Neuenkirchen, visitors can look forward to a nature experience that is all about the host country Finland. With Jupp Räkers and Mika Kaijo, a Münster-based and a Finnish-born hiking guide will create a dialogical tour around the lake and focus on the contrast between local and Finnish nature.
The hike ends at the Neuenkirchen natural outdoor pool, which is exclusively available to the Münsterland Festival this weekend. Anyone who wants to can soak up the real Finnish lifestyle with a sauna session and then cool off in the natural lake. There is also a traditional Finnish meal to enjoy: smoked salmon.

We can also announce a very special guest for all sauna lovers or those curious about the sauna: Tanja Pohjola. Tanja is a traditional sauna master (Finnish: perinnesaunottaja). She is trained in sauna treatments with the tassel. She quotes old healing sayings from the Finnish national epic Kalevala. During the Finnish afternoon, she will show guests how to use the tassel in the typical Finnish way and offer short, individual treatments for the back and legs.

The sauna is offered as a textile sauna, changing and shower facilities are available. Please bring a sauna towel and any other equipment you may need.
