FESTIVAL FINALE WITH THE AUSTRIAN SHOOTING STARS SHAKE STEW
In June 2021, they were awarded the German Jazz Prize in the "Band of the Year International" category, and on November 6, these Austrian shooting stars will be guests at the Münsterland Festival: Shake Stew will play at Burg Vischering to close the eleventh edition of the festival. There they will present a mix of hypnotic Afrobeats and ecstatic sound eruptions.
Hardly any other band has turned the Central European jazz scene on its head like Shake Stew in recent years. While the ZEIT newspaper described them as "Austria's jazz band of the hour" and NDR awarded them the status of "cult band" early on, it has been clear ever since they were awarded the German Jazz Prize that something has been set in motion that has never been seen before.
From the very beginning, the formation, founded by bassist and composer Lukas Kranzelbinder, has been surrounded by something mystical, which has a mesmerizing effect in live concerts: "The unspoken magic words are magic and energy - Shake Stew brings something cultish to contemporary jazz, an enrichment!"Despite their unusual line-up with two drums, two basses and three horns, the band always manages to catch its listeners in a direct way and take them on a unique journey of sound.

Fresh jazz within old castle walls, rocking open-air concerts in the castle courtyard, museum festivals with crossover music for all generations: First-class concerts with international stars are the hallmark of Vischering Castle, the most important and most beautiful curtain wall castle in Westphalia. The defiant 13th century fortress, which was also strongly influenced by the Renaissance, houses a newly designed museum on its history as well as exciting temporary exhibitions. The castle is surrounded by a unique, idyllic landscape with moats that are perfect for relaxing walks.
