Special edition on June 15 and 16, 2024

The Münsterland Festival and the BurgJazz series have been a fixture in the region's cultural landscape for many years and enjoy great popularity far beyond. On June 15 and 16, 2024, they invited guests to an eventful weekend of concerts at Burg Vischering under the title "Münsterland Festival meets BurgJazz" - with first-class international jazz stars and exciting new discoveries. On Sunday, there was also a jazz matinee for children and two picnic concerts for the whole family as part of the Münsterland Picnic Days.

THE VENUE: VISCHERING CASTLE

As an imposing, medieval monument in an idyllic park-like landscape, Burg Vischering is not only a renowned house of contemporary art, but also an excitingly staged museum of contemporary and cultural history. At the same time, it acts as a portal to the more than 100 castles, palaces and manor houses in its Münsterland neighborhood, as an extracurricular place of learning in the STEM field and as a venue for workshops, readings and concerts - a house of knowledge and culture for all generations and senses. Jazz fans have long known that famous names from the world of music perform here.

Outstanding jazz meets picnic event meets stately castle - our weekend of events was dominated by two regional events that also took place this weekend:

Münsterland Picnic Days

The Münsterland Picnic Days from June 14 to 16, 2024 featured numerous events in the region - all under the banner of open-air culinary delights. True to the motto "Me. You. We. The Münsterland celebrates picnics!", locals, guests and picnic enthusiasts were invited to celebrate the Münsterland lifestyle together.

How does a picnic concert work?
Visitors could bring their own picnic and picnic blankets and enjoy the musical sounds in a picturesque setting. Some deckchairs and other comfortable seating were available. Snacks could be purchased on site.

Castles and palaces day

The ideal opportunity to discover the region's treasures: The Sunday Castles and Palaces Day Münsterland took place again in 2024 - on June 16. Between meadows and fields, special activities and offers for young and old, culinary highlights, picnics and guided tours of the houses and grounds once again awaited visitors.
