Poetry, emotion and virtuosity

Tuomas A. Turunen's defining role in the Emil Brandqvist Trio has brought him to the attention of many jazz lovers. The piano trio not only celebrated an ECHO-JAZZ nomination, but also top ten placings in the German jazz charts. The talented Finn presents his virtuoso skills as a soloist at the Münsterland Festival in the Old Town Hall in Schöppingen.
In 2010, the musician, who studied in Gothenburg with the renowned Anders Jormin, was awarded the special jury prize at the Montreux Jazz Festival piano competition. His first solo album "Ornaments Of Time" followed in 2017. His new work "Lifesparks" was released in 2022 with very personal recordings. On it, the pianist creates a sound world of poetry, emotion and virtuosity and moves smoothly between the worlds of jazz, classical music and crossover.
