PRINT - THE GRAPHICS PROJECT FROM OCTOBER 8 TO NOVEMBER 10 AT THE BENTLAGE MONASTERY IN RHEINE AND AT FARB BORKEN

With the prINT printmaking project, the Kloster Bentlage cultural meeting place, FARB and the Druckvereinigung Bentlage e.V. are once again inviting exciting printmakers from the host country to the Münsterland Festival.
Back in May, the three selected Finnish artists Tiina Kivinen, Minna Louhelainen and Janne Laine were guests at the Druckvereinigung's workshop for a joint work residency. All three are primarily dedicated to intaglio printing, but each in their own unique way.
As you will see, they have proven that printmaking is highly valued in Finland, that there is a lot of experimentation and that the artists are extremely technically adept. Heliogravure, mezzotint or line etching, sometimes as a collage, sometimes in combination with a monotype - the exhibitions will show both the prints created in Bentlage and other existing works, which together provide an insight into the many possibilities of printmaking.
In cooperation with Druckvereinigung Bentlage, Kloster Bentlage and the town of Borken.
THE VENUES: BENTLAGE MONASTERY IN RHEINE AND FARB FORUM ALTES RATHAUS BORKEN
Artists and guests of the Bentlage monastery in Rheine find relaxation and concentration
in Rheine when they take in the tranquillity of the Bentlage recreation area. Founded in the 15th century, the monastery offers exhibitions with a focus on printmaking and displays documents and art treasures from the monastery's history in its own museum as well as modern art from the holdings of the LWL Museum of Art and Culture in the Westphalian Gallery.
In summer 2020, after several years of renovation, the FARB on the market square in Borken was opened as a cultural venue and town museum. The building ensemble consists of the medieval Heilig-Geist-Kirche church and the old town hall and has been extensively renovated. A permanent multimedia exhibition on the history of the town, modern exhibition rooms, a project room, the printing workshop and a varied cultural program invite visitors to discover and enjoy cultural encounters.
