FYRM & MARTIN OHRWALDER ON OCTOBER 29 AT HERRENHAUS HARKOTTEN
INTERNATIONAL TRIO MEETS AUSTRIAN TRUMPETER
The international trio FYRM of pianist Agata Ciurkot¸ bassist Michael Bohn and Münster-based drummer Stefan Schneider combines various influences from different sources such as modern jazz, romanticism, free improvisation and new music to create its own fragile sound structure. Richard Brenner will replace pianist Agata Ciurkot on the evening. The trio favors authenticity over expectations and depth over technical performance. FYRM is constantly broadening its musical horizons and thus continually consolidating and refining its own voice and approach to music. At the Münsterland Festival, the trio will meet Austrian trumpeter Martin Ohrwalder at Herrenhaus Harkotten. Martin Ohrwalder studied jazz trumpet and composition in Vienna and has made a name for himself as a soloist and ensemble member in many renowned orchestras and ensembles.

VENUE HERRENHAUS HARKOTTEN

The neoclassical building is the early work of the Rhenish architect and town planner Adolph von Vagedes. The lower floor of the Harkotten manor house, built in 1806 as part of a rare double castle complex, features extensive murals by the Rietberg court painter Phillip F. Bartscher. After a long phase of renovation and restoration of the entire building and the murals on the first floor, the classicist manor house was recognized as a monument of national importance.
