prINT - THE GRAPHIC PROJECT OF THE MÜNSTERLAND FESTIVAL
EXCITING INSIGHTS INTO PRINTMAKING IN RHEINE AND BORKEN
From the idea to the sketch on paper, transferred to a printing block made of wood, metal, cardboard, linoleum or stone, altered in the etching bath by aggressive acid, deepened by multi-layered applications of paint or expanded in combination with collages - printmaking was and is an exciting field.
The prINT printmaking project as part of the Münsterland Festival once again gives two artists from the host country Austria (all currently living in Vienna) the opportunity to present their printmaking to interested parties with their exhibitions in the barn at Bentlage Monastery and at FARB.
In addition to works created over the past few years, the exhibition will also feature freshly printed copies produced by the artists during their two-week residency at the beginning of September in the workshops of the Druckvereinigung am Kloster Bentlage.
Cooperation project between the Bentlage Printing Association, Kloster Bentlage and the FARB Forum Altes Rathaus Borken.
THE ARTISTS
Henriette Leinfellner | 1962
The technical focus of her artistic work is on drawing, collage and printmaking. Thematically, she interweaves cartography, tectonics, found sign codes, the organic, the landscape, the observation of social relationships, the creation of systems. The combination of individual print carriers enables Henriette Leinfellner to interweave different pictorial levels to create exciting compositions.
Karina Kwapil | 1982
Karina Kwapil's work process focuses on the pleasure of the striking, the oversizing of the format or the depiction of the figures themselves. The facets of being human and the role
