An exceptional talent on the trumpet, known for his innovative style and dynamic playing: that's the Finn Verneri Pohjola. His new album "Monkey Mind" will be released in time for the Münsterland Festival in November 2023. Together with his top-class quartet, consisting of the Finnish pianist Tuomo Prättälä, the Copenhagen-born bassist Jasper Høiby and the Finnish jazz drummer Olavi Louhivuori, he will be on stage at Burg Vischering.
Verneri Pohjola combines traditional and modern elements to create a unique sound that is both extraordinary and captivating. His playing is full of warmth and liveliness, it touches and inspires. He has received numerous awards for his albums and electrifying live performances, earning him a reputation as one of the most talented jazz musicians of his generation.
