The Finnish soul of tango
Filling the traditional Finnish tango with new life: That was the goal of Finnish singer Laura Ryhänen when she founded the ensemble Uusikuu in 2006. The band pays homage to the traditional Nordic light music of the 1930s to 1960s and calls its style "Vintage Sounds of Finland". Three elements characterize their repertoire: reinterpretations of classics, rediscovered gems of Finnish dance music and the band members' own compositions. The small orchestra shows that the Finns not only invented the tango, but also master the wild humppa; that they love the tender, dreamy waltz just as much as the elegant swing. Traditional instrumentation, polyphonic singing and Laura Ryhänen's cheerfully ironic stories turn the evening in the Friedenskapelle Münster into a rollercoaster ride of emotions.

THE VENUE: FRIEDENSKAPELLE MÜNSTER
Today's concert hall was built in 1953 as "All Saints Chapel" for the British military stationed in the Lodden Heath at the time. In 1999, after the British left, the dilapidated building was purchased by Münster entrepreneur Egbert Snoek and lovingly restored. Since 2003, the Friedenskapelle am Friedenspark has been used as a concert and event hall and, with its excellent acoustics, has established itself as a charming jewel box with a sophisticated concert program.
