The musicians of Sväng are masters of the harmonica. They have set completely new standards for ensemble playing on this instrument, which is typical of Finland but not often used - both in terms of repertoire and playing technique.
The quartet was founded in 2003 at the renowned Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and has been touring the world ever since, delighting audiences with a challenging and entertaining program. Sväng play contemporary harmonica music that makes use of the unlimited possibilities of the little accordion sister. In 2019, the band was named "Artist of the Year" at the Ethnogala Helsinki.
With these gentlemen, the Münsterland Festival in the Bürgerscheune in Saerbeck offers a free-spirited, joyful and rhythmically vital musical melange that ranges from Slavic melancholy to Nordic dance grooves.

THE VENUE: BÜRGERSCHEUNE SAERBECK
The bourgeois barn in Saerbeck is part of the former Hunnekuhl farm, which was first mentioned in documents around 1400. Today, the building, together with the old farmhouse, serves as a civic and cultural center for the municipality of Saerbeck. The barn, built in 1824, offers an atmospheric ballroom with a stage and space for concerts, cabaret, theater or meetings.
