MÜNSTERLAND FESTIVAL PART 10: WINKLER AND FRIEDEMANN
In this duo, masterful piano playing meets passionate singing.
Pianist Johannes Friedemann was already a guest at the Münsterland Festival in 2013 in a duo formation, and in 2019 at part 10 he came to the region with opera singer Andreas Winkler. Tenor Andreas Winkler was born in Italy and grew up in Innsbruck. He studied singing at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne and began an impressive career that has already taken him to the stages of many international opera houses and music festivals.
Andreas Winkler was accompanied by Johannes Friedemann, who is known for his virtuoso piano playing. He also played works for solo piano. Friedemann grew up in Münsterland and now lives in Switzerland. He has won prizes at international competitions.
The duo's concert program was dedicated to various regions of Europe, with Winkler's homeland Italy playing a special role.

THE VENUE: HAUS MARCK IN TECKLENBURG
At the foot of the mountain town of Tecklenburg, idyllically situated in a floodplain and surrounded by a moat, stands the moated castle Haus Marck. First mentioned in a document in the 14th century, the still existing, simple four-winged complex bears witness to the architecture of the time. The manor house dates back to the middle of the 16th century. The present form is mainly based on alterations dating from 1754. The von Diepenbroick-Grüter family has lived in the house since the 16th century. Concerts and readings are regularly held in the public part of the house, especially in the Knights' Hall. The highlight is the annual open-air concert in May.
Unfortunately, Haus Marck is not barrier-free.
