AV PICNIC ON NOVEMBER 5 AT THE KULT
AV-PICKNICK - The audiovisual concert
The name AV-PICKNICK stands for an audiovisual concert series where visitors can make themselves comfortable with a concert including video art and a picnic. At AV-PICKNICK in Vreden, Sven Stratmann's video projections meet music by ELIS NOA, and the picnic is accompanied by finger food.
Sven Stratmann from Münster has been working with a special projection technique, video mapping, for over ten years. He projects his videos not only onto classic projection surfaces such as screens or house walls, but also onto specific shapes or surfaces, such as special architecture.
Such an architectural projection is also used at the concert at kult. Stratmann adapts his projections to the architectural features of the kult and harmonizes them with the musical performance of the band ELIS NOA. In addition to geometric animations, sophisticated lighting effects, optical illusions and atmospheric textures are used to intensify the musical experience.
THE VENUE: THE KULT IN VREDEN
The kult in Vreden combines state-of-the-art architecture, museum, research and science like no other building in western Germany. In this new building, which opened in summer 2017, the juxtaposition of old and new could not be greater: exposed concrete, dominant clinker brick façades, light-flooded areas and a 'chill-out' zone set an extraordinary accent on the cultural axis of the city of Vreden. Folkloristic and art-historical exhibits from people's everyday lives invite visitors on a journey back in time more than 1400 years. This change of perspective is what makes the kult so attractive and unusual.
