ERDAL AKKAYA & JERÓNIMO MAYA ON OCTOBER 18 AT RELÍGIO

Musical dialog between Spain and Turkey
Flamenco rhythms meet the melodies of Anatolia: Erdal Akkaya, one of Turkey's most important baglama virtuosos, and the brilliant flamenco guitarist Jerónimo Maya from Madrid combine their skills in a musical dialog. The supposed differences - the free singing of flamenco and the narrative depth of Anatolian melodies - were not played off against each other by Akkaya and Maya, but rather combined into a common language at the RELíGIO in Telgte at the Münsterland Festival.
In addition to classic flamenco pieces, the duo also presented works that took the audience from the rivers of Andalusia to the mountains of Anatolia. You will be hearing a lot more of this in this country: Erdal Akkaya now lives in Münster.
The concert could also be booked in combination with the pilgrimage in Telgte.

THE PLACE OF EVENT: RELíGIO

Next to the pilgrimage church in Telgte is the RELíGIO Museum with its old and new
buildings and its exhibition on religious culture in Westphalia. The oldest part of the museum is
the parish barn from 1607, which is now used as an exhibition and event venue. Münsterland culture is cultivated in this rustic ambience. The modern new museum building on the opposite side of the street follows the historical layout of the previous building.
