Jazz that doesn't fit into any box
With his music, he belongs to a new generation of Spanish jazz musicians and is one of the most important representatives of his field: Daniel García plays the music of his home country freely and uninhibitedly. Full of inspiration from modern jazz, classical music, pop and influences from the Caribbean and the Middle East, his jazz doesn't fit into any pigeonhole. And while the influence of flamenco was omnipresent just a few decades ago, García's music is now becoming increasingly detached from it - without losing its connection.
The "Daniel García Trio", consisting of García, Reinier Elizarde "El Negrón" and Shayan Fathi, made a guest appearance at the Münsterland Festival in Ahaus Castle and showed the audience how modern jazz can be - sometimes pointed, sometimes melodic, sometimes multi-layered. A musical "Wonderland" was to be expected, as this is the name of his new album.

THE VENUE: AHAUS CASTLE
Ahaus Castle, once the hunting residence of the prince-bishops of Münster, stands on the site of an 11th century castle. The baroque new building was constructed between 1688 and 1695 under Ambrosius von Oelde. After destruction during the Seven Years' War, Johann Conrad Schlaun redesigned the garden front and added a central risalit with an open staircase. Severely damaged in 1945, the castle was rebuilt and is now a cultural center and the town's most important monument.
