Powerful flamenco

La Jose has made a name for herself in the flamenco scene, which has long been dominated by men. The 42-year-old singer, songwriter and singing teacher is one of the most interesting voices in contemporary flamenco and leads through all emotions with an incredible stage presence: When her heart breaks, so does the audience's, when she gets loud, it stirs, when she dances, it sweeps you away. She combines European and Latin American influences in her music and draws on her Sephardic heritage.

La Jose can already look back on a long career with numerous appearances at festivals and in clubs. In 2024, she took part in the Spanish version of the TV format "The Voice" and reached the quarter finals. At the Kulturbahnhof Hiltrup, she presented herself and her flamenco in a passionate and modern, deep and personal way - an experience.

THE VENUE: KULTURGUT HAUS NOTTBECK

In 1907, during a phase of increasing passenger traffic, the station building at Hiltrup station was inaugurated. It survived the Second World War unscathed, but lost its importance afterwards. The building became the property of the city of Münster and was used by various users (restaurant, discotheque) before it stood empty for decades. In 2012, it was sold to a private investor on the condition that it be used for cultural events and gastronomy. Despite tight municipal funding, the project was realized by the Stadttteiloffensive Hiltrup e.V. thanks to many donations from Hiltrup citizens and companies. The Kulturbahnhof Hiltrup was inaugurated on 23.08.2014 and is now an established venue for a wide range of cultural events.
