CAAMAÑO&AMEIXEIRAS ON OCTOBER 16 AT THE FARB

Catalan jazz - lyrical, innovative, with soul
Fresh, energetic, passionate, to the point. Anyone interested in jazz from Spain cannot avoid Irene Reig. The Barcelona-born power woman made a name for herself early on and has performed on renowned stages with the who's who of European jazz. Today she leads four different ensembles and is regarded as one of the most outstanding representatives of the new Catalan jazz generation.
With her quartet, Reig concentrates on the lyrical side of her music and her instrument. At the appropriate venue, the Haus Nottbeck cultural estate in Oelde, the artist's art of improvisation meets inspiring melodies. Some have even described Reig's own compositions as a revelation ... that sounds promising!
Made possible by the Ramon Llull Institute, which promotes the Catalan language and culture.

THE VENUE: DA, KUNSTHAUS KLOSTER GRAVENHORST

The district of Steinfurt converted the former Cistercian convent of Gravenhorst, which dates back to 1256, into an art museum during the Regionale 2004. With the church, the mill, the mill pond, the bakery and brewery as well as its moats, orchards and historic bridges, the almost completely preserved convent complex is now a cultural tourist attraction. In addition to participatory art projects, there are changing exhibitions, light and sound art, concerts and art and history education.
