Magical soundscapes made of wood and stone
Oreka TX breathes new life into the txalaparta. The percussion instrument consists of long sound boards that rest on trestles. The special feature: Oreka TX experiments with bamboo, stone, metal and even ice. Each material brings a new narrative to life, each performance opens up different acoustic spaces - their concerts are masterpieces of wood, stone and animated power.
Together with their ensemble, Harkaitz Martínez de San Vicente and Mikel Ugarte transformed the Txalaparta into an instrument of dialog: contemporary composition and regional sound language meet a global perspective. At the Münsterland Festival, Oreka TX created a musical portrait of Basque culture in the Draiflessen Conference (in cooperation with meetMusic by Draiflessen) - raw, honest and deeply rooted.

THE VENUE: VISCHERING CASTLE
Draiflessen was founded in 2009 on the initiative of the Brenninkmeijer family of entrepreneurs and has been a house of cultures ever since. The art museum, the Draiflessen Collection, regularly presents exhibitions on socially relevant topics. The Draiflessen Conference combines music and business. In addition to conferences and meetings, the event center regularly hosts musical events from the meetMUSIC concert series founded in Draiflessen.
