DANCE WORKSHOP: EL PATIO ANDALUZ - THE SPANISH DANCE MEETING ON NOVEMBER 2ND AT STROETMANNS FABRIK

Originally an expression of protest, mourning and lust for life, flamenco has since developed into a symbol of self-assertion and cultural identity. At the Münsterland Festival, Carmen López brings this lively tradition to Stroetmann's Fabrik in the form of a Spanish dance meeting.

Here - just like in the traditional Andalusian courtyard - flamenco meets conviviality, Spanish culture meets dance. López, a native Andalusian and flamenco dancer from Münster, demonstrated flamenco and folkloric ballroom dances and actively invited participants to join in - no previous experience necessary! Instead, she teaches basic choreographies and the use of typical props, alternating with exciting background knowledge from Spanish culture.

The result is a shared rhythm that combines body, history and the present. Spanish snacks for refreshment round off the afternoon full of temperament and joie de vivre.

Afterwards, the concert by Andrés Barrios and Carmen Young Peréz can be attended at 7 pm (a separate ticket is required).

Clothing advice

Well-fitting shoes should be worn: wide block heels for women and leather-soled shoes for men. If available, a long, wide skirt was also recommended for the ladies. Those who have could bring a fan.
